NLA ready to explain referendum question

BANGKOK, 6 May 2016 (NNT) - The National Legislative Assembly is ready to explain to the people of Thailand the purpose of the additional question, which voters will be asked to answer in the public referendum on August 7.

NLA Whip spokesman Jate Sirathranont said today that the legislature has been busy working with the Constitution Drafting Commission, concerning the details of the nationwide trips being undertaken to explain key information contained in the draft charter and the referendum question.

Mr. Jate said that a total of 127 NLA members have already confirmed their participation in the regional visits and they will take part in a training session, scheduled for May 13, to make sure all will be working towards the same goal.

He added that the NLA isn't worried about anything and is confident that relevant information and documents will be ready to help it achieve the objective of helping as many people as possible fully understand the draft charter and the referendum question.

Mr. Jate went on to say that the NLA will still be implementing the plan to hold public forums to meet with the people while making use of media alliances to help with the important necessity to explain all details to the public.

The NLA is going to explain the reason for the additional question , what are they on about , just ask the question and let the people decide , one wonders if it will be , As a citizen of Thailand do you think Ret: General Prayut - O - Cha P.M. is doing a good job and do you love him. The answer of course will all come out on August the 7Th......................................cheesy.gif

So how does this work: Are there multiple referendums going on at the same time i.e. you receive 5 ballots with 5 different questions and vote Yes/No for each one, or are all the questions on one ballot...so then how the hell does THAT system work???

As I understand it, there will be two "questions":

YES/no on the draft charter

YES/no on "Do you want the appointed Senate to have a vote on a PM, who is not required to be an MP"

That's my paraphrasing based on reports I've seen; I may be wrong. They've gone back/forth on the "additional question" quite a bit.

Of the junta-appointed 200-member NLA, 127 NLA members have confirmed their participation.

Will we then be missing all the active duty military officers in the NLA who have more important things to do, such as provide national security in case of a public reaction beyond pacified voting?
