British Overseas Citizen Visa for Thailand

Featured Replies

A good friend of mine wants to visit Thailand but as he holds a Bermuda/British passport as a British overseas citizen he needs a visa for Thailand, does anyone know what visa he needs and where to get it from ?

Thanks

It might help if you were to say where your friend is living and why he wishes to come to Thailand.

If he wishes to visit as a tourist he will need a tourist visa obtained from a Thai Embassy or Consulate.

He lives in Bermuda and wants a holiday in Thailand staying about 3 weeks

A single-entry tourist visa will be what he needs in that case.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

As stated, he should get a single entry tourist visa. Bermuda does not have a Thai consulate. One option would be for him to plan his travel around flying through a city with an honorary Thai consulate. If he has an appointment, they will usually do the visa on the spot in 30 minutes or so. Obviously, he needs to be careful of visa requirements at his transit stop also.

It is unclear if there is a way to apply for a tourist visa, say, from an honorary consulate in the US without traveling there. It would be worth inquiring.

If I recall correctly the embassy in Ottawa Canada is responsible for Bermuda. They should accept a mailed in application.
