Thailand won eight gold medals from International Exhibition and Invention of Geneva

BANGKOK, 9 May 2016 (NNT) – National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) Secretary General Sukanya Theerakoonlert disclosed that Thailand had successfully joined in the "44th International Exhibition and Invention of Geneva 2016."

Fifty inventions out of a total 800 were submitted by Thailand which won eight gold medals, 17 silver medals and 18 bronze medals during the contests held between April 13 and April 17.

Thailand also won special awards from many countries such as Russia, South Korea and Taiwan. Participating in such a contest was a great opportunity for young inventors and researchers to gain more experience and meet researchers from abroad in order to learn from one another and exchange their opinions.

Such a useful article. Now we are all left wondering what the inventions were. But I guess that would involve a little research and the details would be mai sanook

Perhaps there is a reason they don't mention them. I would be curious as well to know just what they showed as an invention created by a Thai since they are not being taught to be creative in the schools

I managed to find three Thailand prize recipients on the list. Not sure if they just made up the figure of eight. The link for the list is below. Still, it is quite

an accomplishment when Thailand is recognized for any sort of scientific achievement, from the outside world. Kudos to these Thais for making that happen.

Well, they managed to invent a new name for the exhibition.

Official Name : "44th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva"

Thai Name : "44th International Exhibition and Invention of Geneva."
But you have to give credit for the portable Aflatoxin sensor. Guess what Aflatoxin is, betcha don't know....

"Aflatoxins are poisonous and cancer-causing chemicals that are produced by certain molds (Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus) which grow in soil, decaying vegetation, hay, and grains. They are regularly found in improperly stored staple commodities such as cassava, chili peppers, corn, cotton seed, millet, peanuts, rice, sorghum, sunflower seeds, tree nuts, wheat, and a variety of spices."

Really refreshing to see two or three positive posts amongst the usual negativity. Credit where credit's due.

I agree but the news article is very low on information,it doesn't give any links to the event or mention what won the awards.

Could be pure fiction to be fair.

Here is what you guys were looking for. It's not that hard to do some research before talking shit about other's country you know . . . especially when the internet is right in front of your prejudistic eyes. Guess good education doesn't teach its students to be considerate and make creative comments http://brussels-innova.com/exhibitors/inventions/?invention_sector=-1&invention_country=Thailand
