BANGKOK: -- Interior permanent secretary Krisda Boonrach today (Thursday) ordered the setup of a 22-member ad hoc committee tasked with propagating the content of the draft constitution to the public.

Headed by Mr Krisda himself, the committee comprises deputy interior permanent secretary Prateep Kiratilekha as the vice chairman and Mr Sawaeng Boonmee, deputy secretary-general of the Election Commission, as the advisor and Mr Chartchai na Chiangmai as the committee spokesman.

The other committee members include the chief of inspector and all department chiefs, legal advisors, deputy chief of Local Administration Department, governors and directors of state enterprises under the supervision of the interior ministry.

The committee will be responsible for training officials at provincial, district and village levels so that they will be able to educate members of the public about the draft charter.

The way ALL junta activities are done:

Ad Hoc eh - and there was me thinking that things were done according to a roadmap!

It used to be jobs for the boys but now it's committees.

An ad hoc road block.

Ad lib it instead.

It's an irony to see an unelected government spend seemingly unlimited taxpayer funds to promote the understanding of a draft charter that will legitimize their permanent loss of sovereignty.
