Thailand and UAE vow to cooperate more closely in all fields

BANGKOK, 13 May 2016 (NNT) - Thailand and the UAE have agreed to strengthen ties in all fields, especially economy and trade. The two countries will also coordinate more on foreign affairs.

Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai on Thursday welcomed his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan who is on his official visit to Thailand. The two ministers later attended the 1st meeting between the Thai and UAE joint committee on economic, trade and academic cooperation.

The meeting discussed development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Thailand and the UAE on trade, investment, energy, national security, military, tourism, culture, education and labor.

After the meeting, the two countries signed MOUs on cooperation between Thailand and the UAE and bilateral talks between the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
