Brazil: huge fire ravages Sao Paolo favela



SAO PAOLO: -- A huge fire has caused much damage in a poor district of Brazil’s largest city Sao Paolo.

The authorities said at least 120 houses were destroyed. Many families are said to have been made homeless.

Dozens of firefighters battled the blaze for hours but it had quickly taken hold.

No details of casualties were immediately given.

It appears ignition took place at night when many may have been sleeping.

Very sad. Like life was not already challenging for them.

If there was wind with those old, dry wood structures so close together many would not even have a chance to escape if they were sleeping.
