Min of Commerce sponsors brand awards

BANGKOK, 17 May 2016 – The Ministry of Commerce has joined with Marketeer Magazine to hand out awards to the best brand builders and marketing campaigns in the nation.


The Marketeer No. 1 Brand Thailand 2015-2016 award ceremony was recently held to recognize marketers and companies that were able to expertly establish their brands and utilize a range of marketing techniques to generate awareness for their businesses.

The ceremony as supported by the Ministry of Commerce, which wants to encourage Thai businesses to build up their brands on the international stage and elevate Thailand’s image as a hub of business.

The awards came from a survey of over 4,000 consumers nationwide. They were divided among 42 categories that ranged across all industries. Awards in marketing went to Kasikorn Thai Bank, which was noted as the best brand in support of SMEs.

The best super market brand award was given to Big C, the best hyper-market brand award was handed to Lotus and the best electronic appliance brand was Samsung. Other winners included Toyota for best pickup truck brand and 7-11 for best convenience store brand.

So apart from Kasikorn, none of the brands were Thai!
