Extending VOA in Bangkok

Featured Replies

I come from Switzerland and entered Thailand via Saigon (23.04.2016) and got a 30 days visa at the airport (Permitted to remain until 22.05.2016). Is it possible for me to extend the visa in Thailand for an other 30 days tomorrow or do I have to do a visa run ? If I can extend what do I need to show at the immigration office ? Last question, I m a newbie for Immigration offices here in BKK, where to go for voa extension ? How long does it take usually ? Thanks !

A VOA cannot be extended.

However I don't think you have a VOA.

Yes you can extend your Visa Exempt Entry at any Immigration office in Thailand.

In Bangkok you need to go to Chaengwattana.

Costs 1,900 Baht.

Takes from a few minutes to half day depending on how busy they are.

TM7 application form and passport size photo.

You do not have a visa !

You have a 30 day "visa exempt entry" which can be extended for a further 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 Bht.

Great, thanks for the fast answers ! I forgot to ask, do I need to show them a flight ticket to exit Thailand before the 30 days extensions ?

No ticket out of the country is required to apply for the extension.
