NEW YORK, May 18 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices drifted slightly lower at the start of trading Wednesday after data show crude oil inventories declined less than anticipated.


The Wall Street Journal said analysts it surveyed expect U.S. crude oil inventories to fall by more than 2 million barrels per day in the United States for the week ending May 13. Crude oil inventories have showed gains over several months, fueling declines in an energy market characterized by excessive supplies.
