Pop Singer Suspected in Fatal Crash

The famous Town Production pop star known as Kem is suspected of fleeing from a car crash that left one man dead on National Road 5 in Russey Keo district’s Khlang Sang village yesterday, according to local police.

The white Range Rover allegedly driven by Kem hit a black Celica head-on in front of a Sokimex station, the National Police website said. The Celica’s driver, 31-year-old Ly Karin, died instantly.

“The witnesses who saw the accident reported to the police that afterwards they saw a man run out of the car with his girlfriend,” the website said. “Police identified the owner of the Range Rover as a man named Deab Vannaroat. So maybe the driver bought or borrowed the car from him,” it added. “Two cars drove from the opposite direction and smashed into each other. One driver died. The driver of the Range Rover ran,” Russey Keo district police officer Sok Sokunthear told Khmer Times.
