Graft busters to eradicate corruption in Southern region

YALA, 20 May 2016 (NNT) - Graft-busting agencies have co-signed an agreement instigating a joint crackdown on corruption in the southernmost provinces.

The provincial offices of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), the Attorney-General of Thailand, the Narcotics Control Board, the Anti-Money Laundering and Damrongdhama Center have agreed to mobilize their combined efforts to prevent crime, and abuse of power by state officials in the far south.

The signatory agencies have also discussed a joint working plan and collected ideas and suggestions for their anti-graft campaign from relevant groups. Director of the Yala NACC Office, Payap Kotchapalayuk says the agreement was intended as a warning to unscrupulous politicians and government officials as well as criminals.

The corruption busters plan to initiate collaborative activities to promote an exchange of information, step up probes into complaints of malfeasance, and educate relevant bodies on how to detect and eradicate corrupt practices.

They could ask Suthep for some pointers.

ERADICATE, makes the humble crackdown pale by comparison.

However in the body of the report things get back to normal with use of ' joint crackdown '.

No matter what terminology is used it's just more propaganda.

Crack down in the South, while its shady business as usual in the rest of Thailand.

Don't judge them without seeing what they do. When they do nothing effective, then judge them. Because doing nothing effective is the time-honoured Thai way.

Imagine the fear the corrupt there must be currently feeling?

And when they finish that they can introduce me to their virgin sister with three kids for a date.

I wonder what odds a bookie would offer on a Thai promise to 'eradicate' corruption?

ISOC, the only Royal Thai Military organization that spawned the highest-ranking officer to be arrested as a kingpin for human trafficking (January 2016) together with three other mid-level officers, will undoubtably be exempt from scrutiny.
