Yala to introduce stagecoach services to boost tourism

YALA, 20 May 2016 (NNT)-Yala wants to use stagecoaches to attract tourists to the province to boost local tourism and generate extra income for local families.

It began with a group of horse breeders in a community called Ban Jarupattana. They proposed the idea to the Office of Muang Yala District and sought financial support from the government’s five-million-baht-per-tambon program.

They believe the stagecoach project will also compliment the image of Yala as a bird city. Muang Yala District Sheriff Kongsakul Chantarat said the Bird City project previously received government financial aid of five million baht.

Mr. Kongsakul believes the stagecoach project will create job opportunities for low income earners as well as cover maintenance expenses. If approved, stagecoach services will begin at the end of this year.

I have been to Yala and The image I got was the city of angry Muslims, however I could understand it if it was called the bird brained city

No, I think what they operate in Lampang are basically landaus, convertible carriages.

What Yala officials say they want to operate are stagecoaches, a la Wells Fargo, which are closed.

The attacking Indians will be replaced by southern insurgents riding Honda Waves..

Whether there has been the usual Thai mix up in terminology, remains to be seen.

My family if from Yala - beautiful city possibly the most beautiful city in Thailand - plenty of floral displays and well managed gardens. Had my hair cut by my brother-in-law in the street thta was bombed behind concrete pillars set into the pavement. Local schools have painted these bomb blast posts with different pics. That said I was nervous when out on the street and you get woken up at 5am vry morning a the mussies start wailing all over the city from the loudspakers on the minartes of the many mosques. Bet not much of the 5mill actually gets to the project from all the sticky fingers on the way !

A stagecoach attraction will compliment the "Bird City" image, because... the birds will s(h)it on it?!
