One year extension of stay based on retirement

My one year extension is do the end of July and I have been out of the country for six months.I received my extension at the Chang Mai immigration office and plan on relocating to southern Thailand upon my return, do I still have to go back to Chang Mai to get the extension or can I get it in Phuket? I would appreciate any help on this question. It's for my retirement extension! Thanks

You can apply for the extension in Phuket if that is where you will be living. You will first need to submit a TM28 change of address form with proof of residence attached to it.
