AMAT CHAROEN: Police in Amnat Charoen who arrested two long time husband and wife Ya Ba dealers got a bonus on Sunday.

They arrested the man's mother for trying to bribe the police for their release with cash and gold totalling half a million baht reported Daily News.

Police had arrested Muangmon Prasuchan, 26, of Na Pheu, Amnat Charoen and his wife Sumalin (or Tik) Chantanam, 25, from Bung district on an arrest warrant for possession and selling of Ya Ba.

Police say they have been trying to catch the lair who had been dealing for a long time but they had previously slipped through their fingers. They say they got drugs from a neighbouring country and their business was a big one involving about ten million baht.

On Sunday they also arrested Muangmon's actual mother Kitilak (or Teng Orn) Sukkun, 48, who arrived with cash and gold in the sum of 500,000 baht. She was charged with attempting to bribe officers for the release of her son and daughter in law.

You'd imagine someone living in a District called "Bung" would know how to go about it!

Good to be reminded not all are corrupt.

Police not accepting a bribe!! Well thats a first

Yes, well the required 30% of the profit of 10 million Baht is alot more than 500,000.00 Baht

...'long-time dealers'....

...again no mention of seizing their assets and bank accounts...

...then they would not be in a position to bribe anyone either....

...is it just too obvious....???

Police not accepting a bribe!! Well thats a first

On the end they will get the money. Let me guess mummy will go out on bail for 500k and then she will not return for the hering and the money is gone. Not for nothing are bails at the police station kept with the BIB.

What a load of cobblers!

Police not accepting a bribe!! Well thats a first

It isn't actually

Did the police still keep the bribe money?

Headline should of been " Bung in Bung not big enough bung , Thai mum bungled bung '

I assumed everyone on TV thought that if you commit a crime, it is so easy to get away with it with a bribe to the authorities ? Obviously, as indicated above, it ain't that easy.

Good to be reminded not all are corrupt.

Oh yeah, this was probably a textbook move from the "eliminate the opposition" chapter.

not enough cash got to be at least 20% takings

Police not accepting a bribe!! Well thats a first

i'd do the lass in the middle!!biggrin.png

You have not been here lone have you.?All are corrupt. The military observance of the BIB after the coup, hinders their livelihood of bribes and acceptance. The mom was correct in her idea, just not at this time.

Obviously, nobody told Mr T 8 years ago, how everyone can buy their freedom.

You have not been here long, have you ?

The fact that she was able to come to the police station with 500 K worth of gold says enough....to me the scary part is the total lack of responsibility towards the crime comitted is absent, just not there, no matter how many lives lost....its business.....hoplefully this time no more!

what are you disagreeing with?...........military hindering BIB or they're not all corrupt?....i think she went about wrong though....more subtle perhaps?

Sorry my bad......u mean everyone can't buy heir freedom........true!

maybe a case of she and crew were stepping on the wrong toes...........eliminate the competition?
