PM praises helpers of sea accident victims in Trang

BANGKOK, 26 May 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has praised locals of Ko Libong Island who have helped Spanish tourists struck by an accident at sea, adding that all Thais have kindness in their blood.


Government Spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd reveled the Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has been informed of the sea accident experienced by four Spanish tourists who were sailing from Langkawi, Malaysia, to Phuket last week.

The tourists were rescued by locals of Ko Libong Island, Trang Province. Their boat had collided with submerged rocks, which punctured the boat and caused leakages. The tourists were given accommodations and the locals helped fix their boat and also supported the distressed tourists mentally.

The Prime Minister has praised the actions of the well doers of Ko Libong who did not hesitate to help without demanding for anything in return. He said every Thai person would be proud of their actions as good hosts to the visitors, and that every Thai person possesses kindness in their blood.

The government spokesman added the Prime Minister has urged local authorities to facilitate and look after tourists who could face unexpected situations with friendliness to create a good impression among visitors.

Perhaps he should listen to himself and treat Visitors with some respect instead of having his people accidentally kill them, have police waiting for a "visitor" to ride past and nab them, while countrymen ride past with no helmets... and maybe even let Visitors become residents of this country with the same rights as the locals....
