Phony Officer Arrested with Ice

A man impersonating an army major was arrested for alleged drug dealing in Battambang’s Kam Reang district on Tuesday, according to police.

Hong Peuv was arrested by Anti-Drug Trafficking Police in cooperation with provincial police forces, deputy district police chief Sok Rattha said. During the raid of Mr. Peuv’s home, 3,000 crystal meth pills, a pistol and a luxury car were seized.

“The police force from of the National Authority for Combating Drugs in the Ministry of Interior came secretly to arrest the suspect. They only called the provincial police force to help them when they already surrounded the suspect’s house,” Mr. Rattha said. He added that after his arrest the 50-year-old Mr. Peuv was detained at the provincial police headquarters.
