Extension of my retirmentvisa in Kap Chong imigration

Featured Replies

After 2 extensions on Jomtien this time I had to go to Kap Chong, since I now live in Buriram province.

My old extension was running out the 6th of Maj so I collected all the documenst and arrived the 26th of April around 0830. It was only me there at that time so I tought this will be easy and fast.

I talked to a officer behind the desk and told him I like to make extension of my visa. First you have to fill out the papers he said. I had already filled it out in my home and showed him. He looked in my passport and said. How much did you pay for your last ectension in Pataya Sir? I told him 1900 B. The receipt was still inside my passport and I showed him that. Ok he said, go to the office of my sister (family business?) and she will see if you have all the documents you need. Anyway the sister was friendly and she looked trough my documents and it was ok

Then I had to wait for about 1 hour, and a new officer looked at my papers. Then he made my picture and asked me to sit and wait. After a while I saw him stamping my passport and I tought finaly. But wrong. I had to wait for signature from his boss. 30 more minutts to wait. Finaly the boss asked me and my girlfriend to sit down at his desk. He looked in my passport looked through my papers. Said something in thai to my GF and then signed the extension. The extension was for one month, same some of my friends also had before me.

After a week IMO called my girlfriend and told her they will stop by our house at 10 o clock the next day.

The 2 offcers who came to my house was nice and friendly, after the head of the village had signed and guarantee for me. They made some picures of us outside the house and told me to come back to IMO after 20th of may.

So no 24th of May me and my GF went back to IMO and hopefullt get my extension. And yes they stamped my passport and gave me the extenion untill May 2017.

Is Cap Chong the only IMO who practice this?

Sorry for my bad English

Udon Thani does the 30 day under consideration stamp (it is not an extension) but as far as I know they don't do the home visits.

These Kap Choeng officers must have a lot of time on their hands.

Just think about the effort for such home visits (in every marriage/dependent extension) in Bangkok or Pattaya/Jomtien blink.png

Question, did you have to show a Yellow House book (or do you have one) to apply for the extension at Kap Choeng ?

No I dont have the yellow book. I rent a house. So I brought them my house rental contract and a copy of the house owners sisters id card. The house owner live in Germany, and that was actualy a problem. But my GF and the house owners sister manged to convince IMO that it impossible to get any other papers so they said ok.

I recently had a home visit from immigration in Udon Thani.
