NONG KHAI: -- A man who chatted up women online promising them money was arrested Wednesday for stealing from his victims.

Sarawut Suksamosorn, 37, of Samut Prakarn told police that he chatted to the women on B-Talk and after convincing them that his parents were rich would meet at a resort and steal from them reported Thairath.

Though he only admitted two cases police suspect he is responsible for a string of offences in Nong Khai and Udon Thani.

His arrest cam about after a complaint made by a woman referred to as "Ae" , 21, who said she had met a man at a resort hotel in central Nong Khai on Tuesday night. After chatting and without engaging in sex she had slept only to wake later and find a ring that was in her bag missing along with her Oppo phone and 300 baht in cash. On Wednesday afternoon police managed to locate Sarawut's pick-up and arrested him taking incriminating items into evidence.

He told police that he had recently split up from his wife and chatted with women on B-Talk. He told them his parents were wealthy and involved in the exportation of seafood. He targeted women who needed money. he said he would help them.

He told police that it took only an hour to convince them to meet him.

He then arranged for a hotel meet up. He said he had only done this once before, a suggestion police did not believe.

On this latest occasion he had stolen Ae's ring that he found in a bag along with money and a phone after she had fallen asleep. He got 4,000 baht for the ring.

Ae told police that she needed money and was promised more than she wanted. She had hoped to go for dinner then make her excuses and leave but became a victim of theft.

Sarawut was charged with theft in the hours of darkness and dealing in stolen goods.

One as bad as the other

Sexual favours in Thailand is merrily nondescript where money is concerned. Nice to see the tables turned for a change given that this story is somewhat highly unusual for the man to take the leading role.

This guy should be commended for teaching women a good lesson it's not always one-sided !!!
