Thai First Name Change

Featured Replies

My wife is Thai and has Indefinate Leave to remain in the UK i am a British citizen .

She has recently changed her first name at her local Registry Office in Krabi Thailand.

She will be getting a new Passport in Laksi Bangkok which will be endorsed with the recent change.

She will get translations of all the Paperwork to travel with the new name certificate to present to Gatwick Immigration UK

on our return from Thailand.Could anyone please explain if there will be any issues with her name change at Immigration as she has a Biometric Residents Permit Card

which i have heard must be changed to the new name within 3 months of returning to the UK by Post.

Thank-you for your advice

I would like to ask this in a different way,

Has anyone's Thai wife on the Forum Changed their First name whilst on a Biometric Residence Card and Indefinate Leave to Remain in the UK whilst in Thailand

and did not at the time have a UK passport?

If so has did she encounter any problems when returning to the UK Immigration after getting a new Thai Passport and having a Change of name certificate translated ?

It seems quite rare from the lack of replies
