Chinese stowaway found in hold of Emirates flight to Dubai

DUBAI: -- A Chinese teenager has been found hiding in the cargo hold of an Emirates passenger jet that had flown from Shanghai to Dubai.

Emirates said on Tuesday the stowaway had been found on Flight EK303 from Shanghai last Friday and had been handed over to Dubai police.

The airline did not name the stowaway but China's official Xinhua news agency said he was a 16-year-old boy named Xu.

I wait with bated breath to see how a ME country deals with this. Will UAE a) give the illegal immigrant free housing and money for the rest of his life, and a platform for him to lash out at the country that looked after him, as well as letting him invite up to 19 of his relatives in the 1st 3 years? or B) will they boot him back to China after giving him the lash?

A 16 year old boy will most likely be returned to his parents. The UAE is not a signatory to the refugee conventions, so have no legal obligation to try to process any claim.

The question is was he headed to Dubai or did he miss his connecting flight to elsewhere?

So much for Shanghai airport security. At least he didn't have a suicide belt on him.

Few chinese are muslims. And bombs are also scarce, and crude, in china. The kid will be returned and branded as a traitor for the rest of his life, and made to clean toilets and streets till age 60.
