taking the train from nakhon sawan to bkk.....what is the first stop the train makes where i can switch to bts without a cab ride......thanks for your input

There are no points where those two lines intersect. Bangkok is a big city. If you wish to provide details on your actual destination, I, or others could tell you where to disembark from the SRT train. Depending which type of train you are on, there are about 4 - 6 different stations where you could get off the SRT train.

destination is ekamai bus station.....from the city limits to hua lumphong seems like an hour.....thought i might shed some time off the trip by switching to bts around bang sue....

If you get off at Bang Seu,you could take the #52 bus to connect with the BTS skytrain at Saphan Kwai. However, waiting for the bus, and then travelling on it, I think you would be better off going to Hua Lumphong.

If you don't have much luggage, you could get off at Bang Seu, walk through a long tunnel under the railyards, and emerge into the MRT subway on the east side. Ride that all the way to Sukhumwit (Asoke) Station, then transfer to BTS Skytrain to take you to Ekamai.

How long does that walk take?

is it again someone who is unable to think and tell final destination? IF you want to catch another bus @Ekamai-about all destinations from there also have buses from the Mochit-much, much easier to reach, much quicker too. And a BUS from NknSwn would be much easier then too.

If not-then ignore above and stay on train till end=HLpong, enjoy this ride as it will not be possible anymore in a year or 2, catch MRT (there will be luggage screen+search) and connect to BTS at Asoke/Sukhumvit.

@BgSue: the entry to MRT is actually side by side at railtracks going south and across the road from the northern tracks. Then its a fairly long walk in the AC-tunnel, as the actual tracks/train till now start at the other side of the SRT, but deep in the ground. However, the change MRT-BTS at Mochit is much more cumbersome as at Asoke.
