Ed Visa for Pakistani?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this should go here or under education...

I have a friend in Pakistan, who wishes to attend school here in Thailand. (one year)

Yesterday, I checked out one of the "Big name schools, Walen" and was told that Indian or Pakistani citizens were not permitted to get an Ed visa, in Thailand... blink.png

On the Thai Embassy web site, I believe it says a Police check is all that is required, to obtain the Ed Visa.

Anyone run into this with trying to obtain an Ed Visa, by a Indian or Pakistani resident?

He would have to apply for the visa before traveling to here.

I don't see where it mention a police check for the non-ed visa on the Islamabad embassy website unless that is what this means " Documents showing the trust worthy of the applicant." From: http://www.thaiembassy.org/islamabad/contents/files/services-20160324-002216-287188.pdf

As far as I know there is no such restrictions on getting extensions of stay (not visas) based upon attending school at immigration here.

Thanks!, yes that is where I think he got the info about needing a Police report....

He's read the info there, but and this is where it becomes an issue..... will the qualified Thai Schools allow him in to study?

This is why I was not sure whether to ask here or in the education forum!

Thanks also Ubonjoe, he's aware of having to apply before coming!

Your friend must apply to a school and pay the schools fee. In return the school will provide the documentation need to support a visa application.

Thanks again, yes this is why I checked out one of the schools as mentioned and it was they who said no students from Indian subcontinent!

I just don't want to see him get shafted with a phony school after paying money! The one he checked out was AAA Thai, which I cannot find any info on.... after looking through the Education section last night...

I will check out more! thumbsup.gif

Why doesn't he go to school in Pakistan! It's a wonderful country and very nice. I'm sure they have better schools than Thailand. Pakistan is also a

wonderful vacation spot especially in the mountains! So, your friend should reconsider his school choices. No need to leave home!

Too many quote blocks, to reply to Johnatong...." That school you name has an easily found website "

Yes, it was more of whether to find out if the place had a good reputation... Websites can say anything... Will ask in the ED forum and see if anyone has experience. wink.png

He definitely can get an ed visa & yes a police clearance is required & these days it's extra hard because of fake documents & stuff but it's based on 5 nationalities at the moment( a TV post coming soon) he would need to get his transcripts & documents attested from higher education commission as well as foreign office before applying for the Ed visa
