I'm taking my Thai wife, stepdaughter and son to the UK in a few months time and currently preparing everything for the visa.

I already have a one year bank statement from my bank showing my current account.

I'm the owner/director of a company here for over 8 years now and want to show this to them. Can anyone advise me on what documents I should ask my accountant for?

Is it also worth submitting copies of bluebook/greenbooks to show vehicles I own here?

Thanks in advance.

It seems that your using your joint ties to Thailand as reasons to return, eminently sensible.

I would be including details of your accommodation, joint finances and your work permit over how many years, that should satisfy the ECO that your life is here and that you would return as a family unit.

Not sure what else you would need to provide regarding your business, if anything, others may be able to help.

Don't for get to include any of your wife's other ties.

The UKVI specifically advise against including details of car ownership with applications.

Great, thanks for the reply. We're only going for a 2 week holiday.

So showing return ticket, etc.

I'm wondering if it's worth printing out articles from some magazines featuring my business? I guess every little thing helps?

The ECO only has a few minutes to decide on the application, yours will be pretty straightforward so I wouldn't weigh the application down with press cuttings that wouldn't be read.

The UKVI also specifically advise against purchasing non refundable airline tickets before a visa has been issued, they also state that any copies of any tickets you have purchased shouldn't be included with the supporting documents.

No it won't in this case. For a settlement visa they want to know everything. You don't need to provide anything about your business for a visit visa so you can save on any extra accountant fees. biggrin.png

If you do use bank statements from your business to show you have enough money to finance the trip you need to explain why you can use that money. I just pointed out in my sponsor letter that I am the sole proprietor of my business effectively saying that I can spend the money from my business account in any way I choose.

You should send information to confirm you are settled in Thailand and therefore your wife is likely to return. State what the company is (history and what it does), what your role is and contact information (including websites etc) so the Entry Clearance Officer can check should they wish.

They have checked visit visa applicant employment details so no reason why they shouldn't do something similar.

You are primarily counting on your settled life in Thailand as reasons to return. Really should be pretty straight forward!

My, then girlfriend called her occupation, housewife until this was questioned because we were not married. She became a home maker after that! At least you can use the term housewife!

The OP's work permit, the kids school enrollment in Thailand and anything else that indicates that HIS primary work and residence is in Thailand hence the spouse and siblings returning with him should satisfy the ECO. That's what I have done for my wife's last couple of UK visit visas. That and a letter from whoever you will be staying with in the UK that they will be providing the roof over your head. If the OP has his own property, proof of that will be required (tax receipt, utility bill). If staying in hotels, then an initial hotel reservation won't go amiss.

I contend that you don't need a 'roof over your head' letter (or any details of where you are staying) if it is clear that the funds are there to support payment for your trip.

I recall that the application form does ask broadly about what you will be doing in the UK and if the applicant has friends/relatives living in the UK which might lead you to disclose your relatives and their addresses (or the main one at least) in your particular case, but nothing has triggered me looking for a roof over head letter when visiting my sister and disclosing her address asa part reason for visit every once or twice a year for the last 7 years.

Contentious are we? As is the case in many, many differing situations in Thailand, "your experience may vary." I am truly very happy that you did not feel the need to seek this additional proof (that was specified in the UK government's own visa application guides) and that all your filial visits to the UK have been painless.

My father has submitted letters on three occasions over the past 6 years to support Mrs NL's UK visit visa applications and the letters were never handed back during the application submission as being superfluous to the ultimately successful visa applications. I hope you will share our happiness that Mrs NL's visits have been similarly unchallenged.
