True Visions Remote - Accessing "Favorite" Channels Simply?

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Is there a simple way of accessing the "favorites list" of channels with the True Visions remote? My best understanding via online instruction is it is accessed by the purple button, but that is not reliable. Is there another simple process that I can describe to my 87 year old father and his caregivers? I have a 5-button process that works fine for me, but I cannot distill this process to anyone else, and my dad starts going goofy (which makes me goofy :)

Many thanks for any assistance :)

Press an arrow button to pull up the channel info. The second button (red) on the screen (but first button on the remote) is Add Fav. Press it once and it will change to Del Fav. Now you can flip through all your favourites using the blue button on the remote, but only when the channel info is displayed.

On my remote, another way is to press the round OK button, then press the right arrow once to select Favorites, and press OK again. Then use the up/down arrows to scroll through the Favorites channels (without having the channel list displayed.)

[edited to add:]

If you do want the channel list displayed (e.g. for faster scrolling) don't press the OK button the second time. Then the Favorites channel list remains displayed.

To see what is on your favorites now and for the next week press "Guide" then the green button, then the right arrow and "OK" to change the list from "All Channels" to "Favorites". With the right arrow you can navigate to see the next programs and with the top or bottom arrow you can move up and down one channel at a time or 4 at a time with the "CH +/-" button. To go to a channel click "OK" after having it highlighted with a red background and "Guide" or "Back" button to exit. I like this "Back" button because you can switch between 2 channels (the one you are watching and the previous one) without having to dial their number.

If you press "Guide" then green button then right arrow repetitively you can choose from the following lists: Favorites- Movies-Entertainment-Sports-Knowledge-Kids-News-Music then "OK" to select.

Call or email Truevisions service and they'll send an engineer with a new remote. I got mine replaced last week. Obviously check that it's not the batteries first!

press channel arrow button (up or down doesn't matter)

Then press the blue button to scroll through.

Only works in one direction though.

If you miss the channel you want, you'll have to go through all the other channels until it comes round again

Yes, I regularly/frequently have to replace one of mine for the same reason. I do it at Fortune Town in Bangkok ---- the staff seem quite used to it and don't ask for documentation. They must have hundreds in that back room.
