NAKHON SAWAN: -- father has made a heartfelt plea to help find his 16 year old daughter who went missing in Nakorn Sawan on June 1st.

Despite her young age Nong Nam is suffering from Alzheimer's-like dementia. She walked out of a hospital where her mum was having dialysis and has not been seen since reported tnamcot.

Both parents have been tramping the streets of the city distributing leaflets with a picture and phone number of their daughter whose full name is Amphaporn Mangkhlamee. Her dad said that if she does not take medicine every twelve hours for her condition she can remember nothing.

Facebook users in the city are now joining in the hunt by sharing the story. Police are baffled as to her whereabouts.

Nong Nam was with her mum at the Ruam Phet Hospital in downtown Nakorn Sawan last Wednesday. While her mum Nee Bunta, 38, was having kidney treatment she walked out of the hospital. She was caught at 10.18 am leaving the front door but lack of other CCTV footage in the area means no one knows where she went after that. She was wearing green colored clothing.

Father Somsak Mankhlamee,40, was at work and didn't get to hear about his daughter's disappearance until the evening. He said: "Since she disappeared I can't eat or sleep. I am so worried about her. She needs medication twice a day and if she doesn't get it she can remember nothing. We have tried everything to find her but there is no trace,

"If anyone sees her please bring her home. We love her so much," he told reporters with tears streaming down his face before imploring them with a wai.

Local police contacted by reporters said they were following up on the case. Ekasit Phuksorn of the Nakorn Sawan force said that CCTV coverage in the area of the hospital was poor and so it was difficult to say where she might have gone. Traders and residents in the area have not seen her. An investigation team has been assigned to try and find her but so far without success.

Should anyone see Nong Nam they should call 083 166 1933.

I hope they find her and she is ok

16 years old and has Alzheimer's and mums on dialysis.

If that's not enough she's wandered off and gone missing.

Let's hope for a happy ending for the family are having a very rough time all round.

One can only agree with posts 2 + 3

Poor family. I hope she is found soon.

Happy ending for missing girl with Alzheimer's - found in Khon Kaen after online appeal

NAKHON SAWAN: -- There was a happy ending to yesterday's story about the Nakorn Sawan girl who had been missing since June 1st after she was found wandering in a public park in downtown Khon Kaen.

Nong Nam, 16, suffers from Alzheimer like dementia despite her young age and needs regular medication to help her remember anything at all reported Daily News. She had been seen on CCTV leaving a hospital where her mum was having dialysis but then all trace of her had gone.

Her father Somsak Mankhlamee,40, and mother Nee Bunta, 38, had been tramping the streets of Nakorn Sawan fruitlessly for a week handing out missing person leaflets. Police investigations had got nowhere. But then netizens got posting and sharing the story and a member of the public yesterday recognized her in the Rachadanusorn Park near the number one bus station in Khon Kaen.

The relieved parents have now been informed and were on their way to pick up their daughter from the police station in Khon Kaen.

The girl was in a grey t-shirt not the green that her mother said that she had been wearing on the day of her disappearance. She was found to be in possession of ten photographs of an unidentified young soldier.

What a relief for the parents and now some questions about the photos.

Good to know she's safe.

While I am glad there is family reunification, one thing doesn't sound right. As a physician I have been treating various types of dementia for decades, and the medications we use here are notoriously poor at preserving memory, so I would either like to know the medication she is reportedly taking successfully or have her diagnosed by a specialist in neurology or psychiatry.

....'safe'.....???

...seems a distance to travel by herself....*** 5 h 44 min (389.4 km)

...as for the soldier in the photos.....

....come on....something is 'up' here..........

"so I would either like to know the medication she is reportedly taking successfully"

While the news report was well-written, I wouldn't deduce anything about the efficacy of her medication based on the comment supposedly made by the girl's father.

In any event, if you're a licensed, practicing physician in Thailand, I'm sure you could contact the hospital for more information. Most likely she would be under the care of a doctor at the same hospital where the mother was receiving dialysis.

5 h 44 min ??

She was reported missing on 1st June and, apparently found on the 7th.

Obviously during that time she didn't exist alone in a bubble or not interact with people who may have helped her with food & transport, unaware of her mental state. Is it really necessary to imply "something is up" as if sinister or perverted forces were at work?

I agree with you. Good that she is back with the family but I get an impression of a mental illness rather than dementia. Access to proper psychiatric help is sadly not widespread in Thailand.

It is good to know she was found and hopefully a happy ending.

"She was found to be in possession of ten photographs of an unidentified young soldier."

Hmm...

Why is her face blocked out in the picture. And does she really need to be lectured by the police? and in front of the cameras?

Hmm...

I think some DNA testing is in order as well as posting all those pictures of the soldier to find and quiz him.............

Why is her face blocked out in the picture. And does she really need to be lectured by the police? and in front of the cameras?

How do you know she is being lectured?

Glad she is safe and I was hoping for a good news story which in part it is but now with this report I just hope she wasn't taken advantage of.

Looks like more questions than answers.

Really pleased she was found safe and well :)

That's what they do. They are very confident in their incompetence.

Who has an uncanny resemblance to Adam Sandler?

Is this article a basic to run a silly conspiracy theory?.....
