Okay anybody know anywhere to buy these and companies that deliver the jugs for them? There must be a happy middle ground between hauling in 20 liter jugs from 7 and using some machine in the street. We use them in commonly in Lao and most houses in Asia that are modern have one, but it doesn't seem that common here? I am sure they have these in offices and i would love to never have to haul a bottle of water again.

I am sure the coolers are dime a dozen but what company delivers water of okay quality to fill them?

Machine you can buy in HomePro (or any other similar shop). Delivery company depends on your location, there are plenty, I pay 40 bht for a jug in Pattaya.

Bangkok has tap water certified safe to drink - if you really want better taste and safety an inexpensive RO filter system is not expensive and bottles are easy enough to fill yourself (that is what most people do and probably a lot cleaner water than most delivery service). And yes have such a cooler and doing so for several decades. Have had good luck with Standard brand.

Currently use this model

It's allegedly safe to drink when it leaves the plant. However, by the time it's made its way along rusting and cracked pipes, there's no guarantee.

Actually the US Embassy Medical Unit tested that suspicion more than 3 decades ago at there location and water never failed to meet safe drinking standards even then. Water lines are in much better condition today as most have been replaced. But agree there is always a risk - but in that testing the risk was much higher for contamination in bottled drinking water. But for added safety have always used a local filter for drinking water and currently use an RO type (which much improves taste also).

As I think I've mentioned before, at the time of the floods my partner, who works in the water processing industry, installed a filter with UV since Sprinkle was no longer delivering. He then took a sample of the filtered water to work to test it. It contained faecal coliforms, which demonstrates (1) tap water in Bangkok is polluted, and (2) the domestic filters are not 100% effective. After that we boiled all the water we drank.

This was obviously during the worst emergency period in the history of Bangkok and water is seldom expected to be 100% clear - in most cases it is more about the amount present and filter systems are designed to greatly reduce that amount. Both RO and UV are very effective final stage treatments. Even distillation is not going to be 100%. But a normal filter is about .1 micron; but RO is 0.0001 micron.

Are people so lazy these days they can't sort out for themselves where and how to buy water.

A two second Google search would have come back with this result.

http://www.google.co.th/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwio26CZy5_NAhUETI8KHQFoCYkQFggkMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sprinkle-th.com%2Fen%2F18.9L.php&usg=AFQjCNE1cJssDrPoXzzbMdE9eyG42Ybv9g

And a two second search wouldn't have revealed that Sprinkle's deliveries are very unreliable. I never know whether I'll get my water on Thursday or Friday or Saturday, or if I'll have to wait until the following week.

It also won't show that if you want three bottles (needed if the delivery is days behind schedule), instead of the contracted two, they'll 'phone you up and berate you.

I've been using sprinkle for years and they've been regular as clockwork. The only time they've missed a delivery has been due to a public holiday, with advance notice.

There's no contact for two bottles - They're happy to supply anything between 0-3 depending on how many empties I leave out for them.

Funny how the poster before and after your post completely contradicts your claim.

Maybe you need to better plan your usage of water.

OP doesn't mention anything about looking for a super reliable delivery service, only a delivery service which he could have easily found out himself.

Sometimes people prefer to use forums because the information is more up to date. What is the difference to you if I google or ask here? It takes more effort to make a thread so it isn't being lazy. Also TV is a site that values members that contribute to these forums. So essentially the more information contained in this forum the better it is for the site and it's value as a brand. Now when somebody does google this question in regards to Bangkok this post will come up and drive the amount of hits this site gets.

IMO you also get personal opinions of products and services where as on google you just get a telephone number and address if that. I used to think the same way as you and reconsidered my position and yes I would rather have as much relevant information in one place if possible and tend to use google as a second option.

So it seems you are barking up the wrong tree on this one.
