BY VIRAJ SHAJ

BANGKOK: -- Esso Thailand Plc has announced that the company will move into the second phase of revamping, with the commitment to invest Bt1 billion in the next three years to increase the company’s petrol stations in the country.

The company’s director of retail sales and fuel marketing, Yodpong Sutatham, announced that the company completed the first phase of its revamp. The first phase consisted of a Bt1 billion investment in the refurbishment of 542 of the company’s petrol stations.

The company is revamping stores to increase its market share from 14% to over 15% to surpass Bangchak Petroleum Plc, the second largest petrol company in Thailand in terms of market share.

ESSO's Tiger Mart use to be the 7-11 of gas stations back over 15 years ago, people would want to go to ESSO for snacks and drinks, sadly the management let Tiger Mart deteriorate. I had good memories of Tiger Mart back then, now 7-11 is King.

Both Shell & Esso station's fuel prices seemed more expensive to others along the roads a few yrs back here, plus no shops..It's always PTT for the Mrs & I..mainly due to having a 7/11 & constantly clean toilets.

(Always like the big PTT on the BKK side of Saraburi..just after the St John's college turn-off...it has really clean toilets, & we always laugh at the free-range chickens that roam around, & are not shy when you drop crumbs etc)
