Help delivered to storm-stricken residents in Ang Thong, Narathiwat

ANG THONG, 10 June 2016 (NNT) – Authorities have rushed to assist residents of Ang Thong and Narathiwat provinces after the areas were ravaged by storms.

In Wiset Chai Chan district of Ang Thong, Deputy Mayor of Muang Tia subdistrict Winai Somboontawong led local military staff to survey damages caused by recent heavy rains and gusty winds before they provided assistance to the affected residents. During the survey, three houses were found without roofs.

Similarly, around 80 families in Tanyong Mat subdistrict, Ra-ngae district, Narathiwat were devastated by stormy weather while 40 residences had their roofs blown off by strong winds. Col Isara Chanthakrayom, Commander of the Ranger Forces Regiment 45, has carried out a damage assessment and has sent out troops to repair the damaged homes, with a target to finish the task within three days.
