BANGKOK, 13 June 2016 (NNT) - Despite concerns of possible disruption, the president of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) believes the public referendum will run smoothly.

NLA president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai said there haven't been any reports of political activism ahead of the nationwide public referendum, but he fears that dissenters will cause disruption on the referendum day. Despite concerns, the president believes the reform process including the referendum will go ahead as planned and that security units will be able to prevent violent incidents.

He also asked members of the public to exercise their rights by going to the polls, adding that the country’s future rests in the hands of its people.

Meanwhile, NLA whip Jate Sirataranont said the Constitutional Court’s interpretation of the Public Referendum Act will not affect the additional question attached to the referendum ballot, nor will it affect the referendum process.

Of course it will run smoothly, people aren't allowed to question it.

He also asked members of the public to exercise their rights by going to the polls, adding that the countrys future rests in the hands of its people.

If people were allowed to exercise their rights in 2014 they probably wouldn't have this cluster of numnuts soldiers running thier lives and stripping their rights. People wouldn't be living in fear of having an opinion or voting against the referendum.
