Beer chits issued to Nataree's foreign staff to "pay off officials"



BANGKOK: -- Investigators looking into the affairs of the Nataree soapy massage parlour raided last week have discovered chits that foreign massage girls had in their possession ostensibly to pay off police so they wouldn't face arrest.

The light blue chits were in the shape and name of a popular brand of beer.

Instead of using money the girls would be issued with the chits, that could be used for a month, and would hand them out if they faced arrest for illegal working, it was reported by Daily News.

Girls were found in possession of the chits and investigators are looking into exactly how they were used and the relationship to the ongoing investigation of police at Huay Kwang station that had jurisdiction over the now shuttered establishment in Rachdapisek Road.

Nataree was raided last week with many foreign girls and some underage girls found to be employed. Evidence of kickbacks in a ledger were also found that resulted in the transfer of several local policemen to inactive posts at HQ.

Ongoing drama......and just the very small part of a massive racket.........now the names have been blacked out (to protect the innocent??) and my guess is no action to the named persons...other than the removing of one officer!

Unless there's some inter-factional aspect and some people have to be got rid of, figuratively speaking, this is another ' investigation ' likely to go nowhere.

Defamation, even if true, illegal and corrupt, the truth is still actionable in the courts as it might harm somebodies reputation, as if they had one
