KAMPHAENG PHET: -- A secondary school in rural Kamphaeng Phet has six sets of twins in four year groups.

But while they are identical in appearance their characters are very different reported Thairath

One boy is a proverbial "jock" playing football for the school team while his more delicate sibling prefers dancing. One girl is sugar sweet while her sister behaves more like a boy!

Teachers have problems telling the children apart at the Reuang Witphitayakhom school in Prankratai district far from the city out in the wilds of the province. The school has 744 students and 52 teachers. All the twins are in Years 8 to 11 (according to the UK system).
M1 to M4 in Thai.

The twins told reporters that the country tradition dictates that the first born is called the youngest and the second born the oldest. Many of them come from families where the mums and dads have broken up. Some live with their grandparents while parents work in other provinces.

Boys Thertphoom and Parkphoom, 16, look alike but have different characters. Thertphoom plays football for the school team while his brother dances for the school's "To Be Number One" program. "I don't like him very much, "said Thertphoom, "he is always complaining to dad."

Nonthiya and Wathinee, 14, are also very different. Nonthiya is girly and sweet while her sister is bolder and more boyish.

The numerical ratio student / teacher with 744 / 52 is very good.
This corresponds to an average class size of 14,3 students.

Under these conditions, students (whether twins or not) should be able to learn a lot.

At a school I used to work at. there were two pretties working at the front desk where parents sign up and pay for tuition. They were both nieces of the owner of the school. They were addressed as teachers by the parents and kids. They were not teachers in any sense of the word.

Also, the owner of the agency for the school was addressed as a teacher. Again, she was not in any way, shape or form a teacher. This might give some perspective as to why there are a good number of teachers to students at this school.
