PATTAYA: -- Just after midnight on the morning of June 14 a police patrol was sent to the Bella Villa Hotel on Soi 4, Pattaya after reports that a Chinese tourist had been assaulted outside.

In the street three Chinese men were waiting for the police and were accompanied by a Thai lady who was able to give a statement. Twenty-six year old Wilairat Lahkul explained that one of the men, thirty-two year old Hsiao Shun-Wen, had began a Facebook relationship with who he thought was a Thai lady.

It was only after travelling to Thailand and meeting with his online sweetheart that he actually realised she was a he.

Why are some posters bashing him instead of this fake nightmarish 'woman'?

How could he have known it wasn't a woman and the dangers of Pattaya, especially as he's from China? There certainly is a shortage of women in China in his age bracket and I think he deserves some sympathy from having wasted his time, money and hope, and landing injury, trouble and broken dreams of love.

Yes, and in this case, the bait turned out to be a worm. (Unless you mean "bate" in some kind of word play sense) Oh, and I would offer the bait before the switch.

The bimbo he-she (or she-he... or whatever is PC) should have made it clear to the poor schmuck what was up regarding gender before putting him through the emotional and financial hardship he endured. But at the same rate, anybody should be smart enough to research Pattaya to learn the nature of the sex trade there and likelihood of something @*$%ed up like this happening -- then start asking the right questions.

Actually, the reporter is being politically incorrect. The sweetheart with the silicone cleavage should, of course, be referred to as "she" not he, because he (sorry, I mean she) says he (sorry, I mean she) is a she and he (sorry, she) obviously knows best.

For those who may be unfamiliar with "progressive" thinking on the subject of what determines gender these days, allow me to elucidate.

You may possess the Y chromosome, be described as "Male" on your birth certificate and have fathered several children. But none of these traditional determiners of sex and gender need to be considered if, on a whim, you fancy "coming out" as a woman.

This is because, in advanced" societies such as the UK and the USA, the political and social agenda is increasingly dictated by fashionable minority groups, such as the vociferous LGBT lobby, who are standing traditional attitudes to just about everything we used to believe in on their heads.

It matters not whether you are young or old, a teenager or a wrinkly old geezer with a gaggle of grandchildren. Simply slip into a frock and pair of heels, inform friends and family that you are tired of being a woman trapped in a man's body and the politically-correct response should be high fives all round.

Anyone rash enough to raise an incredulous eyebrow deserves to be dismissed as just another sexist bigot seeking to perpetuate the patriarchal society and rape culture which (as we all know from being constantly reminded by man-hating Fourth Wave feminists) makes the lives of all Western women a misery.
