Russia 'hacked Democrats data on Trump' says US

WASHINGTON: -- Russian government hackers breached Democratic National Committee computers to obtain opposition research on Republican Donald Trump, say officials.

The DNC's computer network was infiltrated in a "serious" incident, said chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

A cyber security firm has been hired to help, she said, to "kick out the intruders and secure our network".

Please any reliable proof/source on that part.

At the moment, this looks baseless. Maybe it's part of Trump self-advertisement company with "wow" events.

From the linked article:

"Both adversaries engage in extensive political and economic espionage for the benefit of the government of the Russian Federation and are believed to be closely linked to the Russian government's powerful and highly capable intelligence services," cyber security firm CrowdStrike said.

Guess we have at least a poster or two who could say whether CrowdStrike constitutes a "credible source".

Some more information (such as networks of other political organizations being compromised) can be found here:

We have nothing but an article from Washingtonpost, where it was posted firstly.

A Russian government spokesman denied involvement in the breach.

"I completely rule out a possibility that the (Russian) government or the government bodies have been involved in this," Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, told Reuters in Moscow.

@AlexStepashkin

Ah, that settles it then. No one would doubt a Russian government spokesman. coffee1.gif

I'm not suggesting taking it as only truth.

I'm showing other side of the situation, and point to lack of basis for such claims.

Everyone can make their own conclusion.

After all, in the era, where people taking thrown info as it is, without doing critical thinking or checking anything, it's more like a question of religion now.

Oilprice energy magazine reported that Russian intelligence informed Western intelligence agencies that Moscow is planning to publish Hillary Clinton's emails. If true then it will prove that she placed her own self interest first before national security.

I see no connection between Hillary's situation and Russia whatsoever. Looks like someone's imagination, or maybe another reason for Hillary to appear in newspapers for pre-vote advertisement?

It's no secret that Putin prefers the vile monster (because he knows what moron he is and will leave Russia alone on Ukraine, etc.) so this news helps the vile monster.

Okay, you call Trump a moron since you don't agree or like the guy.

Well. allow me to call you a moron too as I don't agree with you.

I'm not running for president.

The vile monster is much worse than a moron.

Was Hillary posting classified items on Facebook again?

Yeah! And without a password!

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-27/first-shocking-deposition-clinton-email-case-reveals-she-did-not-use-password

As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton never used a password to protect her computer emails, and she was clueless about how regular emails work on a conventional computer, according to a deposition of a foreign service officer at the State Department.

I know I am on your s**t list(no read list) but must we be subject to your name calling with regard to politicians whose message is in disagreement with your thinking? You seem to be almost rabid with it comes to certain topics. Name calling is insulting to the views of others who may not share your views. The forum is made up of people with great diversity and that goes for political views. Trump is not necessarily the candidate I would prefer for the Republican party but neither is Hillary the right one for the Democratic party. Calling Trump a vile monster and moron only shows your own anger and does not further discourse on the subject. Like it or not Trump is anything but a moron. Not everyone is wrong who does not share your view of things. While I definitely do not always approve of Trumps delivery method, he is often not far off in what he says. The always politically correct crowd has become unable to view the world in real terms and Trump like it or not is not politically correct. Obama on the other hand, flipped out during the briefing he gave the other day at the Treasure Department. That was neither the time nor place for a political speech. Obviously from the number of posts you have accumulated on TV you need to get out more.

Well, we all know that Russia, according to the corporate media, is responsible for all the evil in the world, ..

Yeah, corporate media and each and every one of its neighbors. Russia invades its neighbors then annexes territory, dopes their athletes, sends trained thugs to beat up people in the streets of France, uses energy to blackmail neighbors, murders critics of the Kremlin abroad, regularly risks starting WWIII through reckless actions of their planes and subs, kidnaps citizens of neighboring countries and jail them on made up charges, has an Internet troll army that has caused websites around the world to disable their comments sections and of course, Russia's cyber terrorism against Estonia in 2006 led to NATO establishing their Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence https://ccdcoe.org/history.html

And that's just the short list.

What a sweet bunch of superficial stereotypes.

I assume that you are not that interested in researching each of those matters deeply enough to be not so onesided on them.

Quite the opposite...actually.

First of all...Democrats (especially Hillary) have been leaking US secrets to the Russians for years.

I don't know if you are aware of Hillary's problems....but seems she is unable to keep secrets, and has been under investigation for years.

If I was a foreign spy, the first place I would look for information is from a Hillary Network.

Loose Lips sink Ships...is an old Miliary saying. In Hillary's case, going through her unprotected emails was a bonanza for the Russians. It was almost an invitation.

Trump said a few nice things about Putin....which is not a bad thing, for a change. Willingness to talk, unlike the current administration. I am sure the Russians would prefer Trump..and might of been trying to tip the scales by making the Democrats look stupid again.

Not hard to do

Most times (at least on this forum), when posters call others to do "research" or claim to have "researched" a topic, it basically comes down to quoting questionable sources, spinning issues and other forms of deflections.

And I lived in Washington D.C. Therefore I know all about the inner workings of the U.S. Government.

'In a rally Thursday night, Trump cited those comments as the reason he will not reject the Russian leader. “A guy calls me a genius and I’m going to renounce?” Trump said. “I’m not going to renounce him.”'
