SETV extension - where won't you need TM30?

Featured Replies

I know that some immigration offices require TM30 when you apply for a 30-day extension of your 60-day SETV, some don't.

Does anyone know which do and which don't?

In/around Pattaya in particular?

Bangkok does not ask.

In Pattaya it depends upon where you staying. If staying in a hotel they don't always ask for it since the hotel should of done the report.

Sri Racha would probably ask for one. Rayong probably not.

Wherever you apply you need a local address to put on the application form. A hotel receipt would be accepted as a proof of that address if asked for it.

Thanks. I should have added to the OP that Rayong do ask for TM30 + house owner's passport + house book and won't necessarily accept a hotel receipt either.

They're friendly and fast but ask for a lot of paperwork.

Bangkok won't ask for it but you'll need to give a Bangkok address.

Thanks. I suppose staying at a hotel near one of the friendlier immigration offices a couple of days, then extending is the easiest option here.

I am certain if you went to Bangkok stayed the night and then applied the next morning for the extension you would not have a problem. They are tourist friendly there.

Thanks. I'll probably do just that.

Don't go to Sriracha. Too much troubles there. And you'll need the TM30. If no TM30 you'll get a fine. And no extension. The officer will say you that you will overstay and don't care about you.

I did my extension in Pattaya/Jomtien one hour ago without any problem. They will give you a TM30 to fill in by yourself. However you should bring a paper from the hotel you are staying or the owner of the place you are staying at.

Went to Pattaya/Jomtien early, was there when they opened. Had to fill in TM30 + the new "social media etc." form, which required a second photograph (although they basically only asked me to repeat information I'd already provided, i.e. address abroad & in Thailand - the lady told me I didn't need to answer the other questions i.e. social media, bank account etc.).

Other than that, extremely fast - after filling out everything, I had my extension within less than 5 minutes.

All in all, they asked for:

- TM7

- TM30

- The new form (whatever it is called)

- 2 photographs

- 2 copies of passport photograph page & visa page & departure card

Very smooth, happy with the service provided.
