Filing for a METV visa in my home country

Featured Replies

MY plan is to stay in Thailand for 6-7 months. I know the METV visa is a 60 day visa every time you enter Thai and has a valdility of 6 months. So to file for a METV visa in my home country, first must get an itinerary to show the thai embassy, which will show my arrival date to Thai and my departure date going home which will read 180 days+ . What I'm confused about is when the thai embassy sees I'm staying for over 6 months will they deny my visa and will I have any problems at the airport boarding the plane? Last year I booked my flight only showing 89 days on itinerary but stayed 6 months because I changed my going home flight after I was in Thai but then must pay extra for changing flights which is expensive but its less worry free from my concern. So can anyone give me there thoughts?

I see no reason why the embassy should deny you the visa, nor why the airline should deny you boarding.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

  • Every Embassy/Consulate has their own rules regarding the itinerary and it's best to ask where you are applying. They usually reject incomplete applications rather than accept them and deny later.

The airline will have no interest in how long you are staying if you are travelling with a visa.

OK Thanks for your help, but calling some of these embassies is like talking to a wall I never get my question answered.. The lady will say 'ohh you can only stay for 60 days'

So just tell them whatever they want to hear.

At the end of the day, a piece of paper describing some activities is a plan, and plans change.
