Non O Thai wife visa vs Retirement visa

Recommended Posts

Today I applied for an extension of my Non O Thai wife visa for the forth time and everything went well.

The officer who processed my application asked me if I would rather get a retirement visa and said they were much easier and much less paperwork.

Since I had everything ready for the Non O Thai wife visa, I told her no, maybe next year.

I think I remember reading here on TV that there are advantages to having the Non O that I have over the retirement visa, but I can not remember what they were.

Money is not a problem, my income qualifies me for either.

I am asking for input on the advantages on one visa over the other.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I guess it is true it is easier for them to do based on retirment

I have always done based on marriage

The one thing I do remember being an advantage aside form the smaller cash is you can if you so desire

work

Retired is retired

I am not sure of all the specifics as I have never worked here but I remember that was an option on the marriage based extensions

MOVED TO VISA FORUM

Pro's for Extension based on Retirement.

No visit to check matrimonial home. (varies from Office to Office)

Not dependent on your relationship.

No approval required (consideration for 30 days)from Bangkok

Issued on the spot (with supporting paperwork).
