Don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend who has any signs of violent tendencies or mentally unstable. They can't handle relationships breaking up.

Well your a bright one, pray tell how can you reconize a future crazy girl friend when you first meet?

you may not pick up tell tale signs at the first meeting but some indication will start to show up

in the course of time which sometimes get ignored and later bigger signs show up. being alert will pay

not being "blinded" by love (which may be faked ).

As much as I like Thai people- one thing is a fact. Once a Thai becomes angry most lose control of themselves they become violent and threatening . they do not think of consequences of their actions. It is almost like they are temporarily insane. Best course of action- get out of their way if possible. When in that state they cannot be reasoned with.

you have read the situation very well indeed.

it is unfortunate that the actual circumstances related to the incident

rarely come to light.

was it promises made to the attacker and not fulfilled or ill treatment or

so many of the other behavioural traits that incensed the attacker.

surely this sort of action cannot be condoned but it would be interesting

to hear the other side of the story.

A brit lad once told me:

If you have never been robbed by a pro, you have never lived.

if you havent been chased by ladyboys, youve never lived.

If you havent been threatenef at knifepoint by thai gf you never lived.

If you never been (semi) beaten up, shirt ripped to threads by a Thai gf, you havent had a Thai gf.

'Insanely and uncontrollably

Im sure many farangs know those two words.555

So your Ladyboy GF done all those things to you..............wow you have lived...............coffee1.gif

While escorting the soon to be ex-gf to the condo door...she reached into a kitchen drawer and pulled out a knife...whereupon she set about trying to stab me...during the melee I managed to call the condo police desk...asking for assistance...I could hear them talking a laughing...no one came to my aid...

Managed to get the knife away without too much damage to her or myself...and throw her butt out the door...

When I went down stairs to ask what happened to my condo police assistance in my time of need...they laughed once again...

This is Thailand...

If she becomes your girlfriend when you first meet her; that would be a good sign you may want to avoid her. Obviously, the OP was suggesting you get to know her before making her your girlfriend. See how she reacts to you talking to or being with other girls, watch her reactions to other men, see what demands she places on your relationship, observe her reactions to your likes and dislikes; and do so before you make her yours.

Recently a screaming mad Thai wife, and there have been dozens before her, tried to cut her husbands penis off.

This was tantamount to attempted murder.

Just because he was doing what all Thai men do - screw around. Well according to every Thai women I met they screw around.

When I pointed this out to the Thai women I share a condo with that the wife should be in jail - her response was a bit worrying....she believed the guy got what he deserved..........so attacking someone with a lethal weapon is the normal response by all locals here to infidelity....soooooooo don't ever forget that...!!!!!

I was going say...lucky she didn't try to snip off his wiener-schnitzel!

What is he doing at walking street when has a "girlfriend"?

Walking, having a drink, eating, shopping, sight seeing? How about whatever he wants? Why should he not be in Walking Street?

Sure. That's probably why a Thai woman stabbed him in public with scissors.

...looks really savage....

...and 'No means no'.....

...having a pair of scissors suggests 'premeditation' as well....

...attempted murder....15 years....???

...sadly probably not even 15 days....

You will get more for kicking a Thai dog than trying to kill a farang.

Easy, if you haven't worked it out already you have no chance.

Sorry to rain on your parade but i was married to a woman for 20 ys with mental health problems its no joking matter and there wasn't any way of seeing what was to come, she went the opposite way to the above no 2 people are the same.

why would you publicialy tell everyone who can read that your wife was nuts? don't you have any pride or feelings for her to publicially say that? what good that it do for you to write that statement?

The problem is that most farang do not understand how not "Losing Face" is important to Thais.

If they are in public and do anything that makes their G/F loose face, and may be in a somewhat

drunken state overdo it, some Thais will go overboard. Jealousy is an internationally occurring

emotion. One has to understand the social environment and customs. Bringing your Thai g/f to

walking street is a dumb idea ...

To make that clear for you -

The Walking Street and surroundings in only a small part of Pattaya and a lot of Expat people live there and have real relationships.

So, sometimes you will go there, with or without Gf, but that is not a every day occasion.

So if you ignorant and uninformed, not be sarcastic and impolite, just not write here only stereotype. bah.gif

I lived in 2 different, long relationships for many years in Patong, similar to Pattaya city

and was also some times in Soi Bangla - the Patong - Walking Street, and know what I write about! tongue.png

Thailand has one of the highest rates of domestic violence. 63% of Thais believe the partner has the right to use violence if someone fails to do what is expected. If you grew up with beatings at home, in school and on TV, it becomes a natural way to solve problems. When it comes to jealousy, keep in mind your Thai partner is a bomb with a lit up fuse.

Well you better read this Thailand about number 76 in the world
