June 28, 20169 yr Sixteen Cambodian migrants along with six of their children were deported from Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province last Thursday, while four Cambodians were repatriated from Malaysia on Saturday, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs statements. The deportees were arrested in raids by Thai provincial authorities and immigration officials on three plaster-making workshops, Ministry spokesman Chum Sounry said. After discussions with the Cambodian consulate, the employers in the workshops agreed to pay the workers’ outstanding wages and guaranteed to reinstate all 16 after the necessary legal work permits are acquired. On Saturday, four Cambodian women who suffered abuse while working as maids in Malaysia were also repatriated, Mr. Sounry said. “The Cambodian Embassy in Malaysia helped to repatriate four Cambodian laborers who worked in Malaysia and met work difficulties,” the spokesman wrote in a statement without mentioning the nature of the workers’ difficulties. The statement named the Cambodians as Siv Saroeun, 34, Krouch Sreypov, 24, Salim Atiet Meisy, 28, and 19-year-old Rosart Rofart. read more http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/26532/cambodian-laborers-deported--repatriated/ ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français ThaiVisa, it's also in French
June 28, 20169 yr Well done Cambodia and Thailand, Its good to see that the workers were not duped out of their salaries, and have been given every chance of returning and working legally. This is really an improvement for both governments involved.
