Global Transactions Easier with Acleda MasterCard

Cambodia’s leading commercial bank Acleda in partnership with MasterCard Asia and the Pacific, last week launched the Acleda MasterCard electronic plastic card to allow customers to make withdrawals through any ATM as well as make payments around the world where the MasterCard logo is displayed. “The Acleda MasterCard is a world class financial product for Cambodians and it provides them with a new way of making banking transactions in a safe, fast, convenient and secure climate,” said the joint statement at the launch of the electronic card last Friday.

“The Acleda MasterCard is also a secure financial tool to allow customers to withdraw cash through any ATM and make payments via any point of sales (POS) system outlets throughout Cambodia and around the world,” added the statement. “It is an electronic plastic card loaded with an advanced technology based on the EMV (Euro-pay Master and VISA and Memory Chip) to provide utmost security.”

President and Group Managing Director of Acleda Bank, In Channy, said at the launch that the electronic card could be used worldwide and is accepted globally. “It can be used in all ATMs and also worldwide where the MasterCard logo is displayed. The transactions are easy and highly secure,” he said. Mr. Channy said that the Acleda MasterCard will stimulate the growth of both debit and credit cards in the Kingdom’s banking industry.
