Facebook Gambler: Conned out of B19,000 and Then Reports Himself to the Police
Story by Albert Jack

PATTAYA: -- Just after midnight, on the morning of June 28, a thirty-two year old Songtaew Driver, Pawarit Chuensamran, reported an incident to the Pattaya Police.

He had been using an online gambling website on Facebook called SBOBET VIP SPORT, which seems to cater for baccarat and sports betting, when he decided to enter a quiz game which paid B2000 for each correct answer. Each jackpot question paid out another B15,000.

Chuensamran answered the first three questions correctly and then successfully tackled the jackpot question. Delighted with his results he contacted the Line ID given on the Facebook page to claim his B21,000 only to be told that he had to pay the entry fee of B19,000 before his winnings would be released to his bank account.

and still the smartest guy in the room...

Does the law protect law breakers from being ripped off by another law breaker?

I don't know how that works, for example, do you go to the Police when you rob a bank and then someone robs you of your loot whilst you pop to 7 Eleven? (bit extreme example I know)

The man is an idiot.

Funny he reports his crimes to police, gambling, and expects the police to investigate his complaint.

Entering an online quiz, which is what he did, is breaking the law, is it?

He didn't report "his crimes" to the police, he reported that he had entered a quiz and not been paid the prize as promised. What crimes did he commit?

Like the Thai guy who lost a bag containing B50K off his motorcycle in Chiang mai .He went to the police to report his loss .They promptly arrested him ,as they already had a warrant out for him ,for drug dealing . ;-)

Qatar would be proud of this walking advertisement. The lights are on but there's no one at home.

Hook, line, and sinker.
