Bangkok man says he slashed stranger because he was drunk, confused

What's so complicated about this case that it requires a reconstruction ?

Nothing but the BIB never pass up a chance to make it look as if they're on the ball. Now what about all the cases that they and the DSI are dragging their feet over ?

Ssshh.

I believe the RTP also reconstruct more complex cases, especially embezzlement, but the accused plays the victim and a senior officer acts the part of the perpetrator. These re-enactments are done in private behind closed doors.

Slashing someone then thinking he is absolved because it wasn't the person he wanted to slash is yet another quintessentially Thai trait the deserves to go into the Pride of Thailand project...

So many things wrong here. Who says he thinks he is absolved? He is just saying why he did it.

A Thai trait? Have you ever lived in any other country? People makes excuses and blame things like alcohol, insanity etc for committing crimes in ALL countries I have lived.

Some people will pick up on anything to get their hatred of the Thai people out of their system.

Great! We got an explanation, "I was drunk and confused!" - enough for the understanding nod of policemen in charge and the obligatory 500 Baht fine. No need for the extra effort to get to the root of the problem (drug abuse numbers skyrocketing in LOS)...

"Wee, wee, weee, we are happy and so free! No, no, you! Don't tell us what to do, 'cause otherwise we'll slash you!" crazy.gif (new Thailand song...)

Excuse me for saying this all of you, but Thai men are limp-wristed pussies. They've always got an excuse, stinking cowards.

Excuse me for saying this... but it is is a stinking comment tongue.png

Yet another warning of where the Kingdom is heading unless something is done to re-engage millions of alienated members of the young population waiting for the next fix or fight - or both.

The key question in relation to the murderous rivalry between vocational colleges is - why? What on earth makes a bunch of kids from one learning establishment hate those from another sufficiently to maim or even kill them?

Until the motivation for this mindless violence is identified and a way to eradicate it found, no sticking plaster solutions such as closing down colleges or punishing the parents of brawling students will more than scratch the surface of the problem.

Factors worthy of consideration: the decline of the national religion and a lack of parental influence; the assumption that vocational training students are by definition failures; a mindlessly macho culture underpinned by a venal entertainment industry and prurient mass media - and of course the widespread availability of cheap alcohol and mind-altering drugs.

Other posters doubtless will be able to add their own reasons for the carnage in the college killing fields. Let us hope, before many more young lives are squandered, that somebody in government house is doing the same.

Should there be some more restrictions on ethanol purchases, other than age and time of day? e.g. must have passed a sanity test, or psychological test that can determine likelihood of violent tendencies if ethanol were to be consumed?

There are no restrictions on the sale of ethanol that I am aware of - I can buy ethanol,E20, at any time of day...what are you on about?

Oh, I see now, you are trying to be holier than thou by using ethanol instead of alcohol? Another chardonnay socialist no doubt.

Try drinking pure ethanol and see how you go.....won't be in this world for too long.

And get it right...the restrictions on the sale of alcohol (not ethanol) are easily circumvented as the restriction only applies to a quantity less than 10 litres. Can buy a couple of boxes of beer anytime.

Ban alcohol. Do many bloody hypocrites when it comes to other drugs being illegal.

Alcohol by FAR caused the most misery in this country.
