Have just been issued Single Entry Visa but would like Multiple Entry, can I change?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just recently applied for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa from the London, UK embassy, by post.

I didn't supply any of the additional requirements such as proof of funds etc. because there was no mention of it on their website when following their instructions here: http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/401

Because I didn't supply these additional requirements, however, I have only been given a Single Entry Visa and received a refund for the difference in price.

I would still like the Multiple Entry Visa because it offers a lot more flexibility and time in Thailand.

I meet the requirements and can provide that information.

My question is, now that I've already been issued the Single Entry Visa, can I still apply for the Multiple Entry Visa again before I leave (so before activating the visa)?

This time I would obviously provide the additional requirements, but will they allow it if I already have an unused Single Entry Visa in my passport?

Thank you for your help

i would think one route would be to contact the embassy direct i presume you are still in the uk once a visa is issued you keep it done and paid for no refund as to getting further visas speak to them

The requirements for the multiple entry visa is here: http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/574

The link you posted is for doing the application by post and does not mention the required documents for the visa.

Not sure they would issue you another visa since they would have to cancel the existing one. You would have to contact them about it.

As long as you are prepared to have the existing SETV cancelled they will probably issue a METV. You will need to put a covering letter in with the new application explaining that you want to apply for a METV and want the SETV cancelled.

Thank you for the responses.

I contacted the London embassy by phone and was told I could apply again for the Multiple entry visa and provide the necessary additional information. The Single entry visa would obviously be forfeited without refund.

I have another question, if you wouldn't mind:

I'm self employed with a business in the UK, and one of the requirements for the Multiple Entry visa is to provide my self assessment and a company registration document.

What form of company registration document can I provide?

I'm self employed simply as a sole trader, I don't have an Ltd, LLC etc. so don't have a company registration letter or anything at hand.

Thank you for your help

If I recall correctly there was a report of the embassy not requiring the company registration. A self assessment was all that was asked for.

why dont you ask THEM what they require rather than ask here?

Just saying,

Keep your SETV and apply for another SETV from Laos or similar country when this expires
