Hello guys

do anyone here have experience with getting an item from the thai apple shop and returning it for a full refund during the 14 days refund guarantee ? if yes did you had to ship it somewhere or some one came to pick it up?

i have been looking into this page at the apple website

http://www.apple.com/th-en/shop/help/returns_refund

and something i am not sure i understand is this line:

please note that we will only remit refunds to a Thailand bank account where the name of the bank account holder matches the payor’s name/information. Please also note that we only remit refunds domestically and cannot remit refunds outside of Thailand.

i do not have a bank account in Thailand and I'm planning to buy with a credit card from my bank in Europe , does that mean they will not issue a refund if needed?

Thanks in advance for any help

There are no Apple-owned/operated shops in Thailand, so info at an official Apple web site might not apply. All "Apple shops" here are franchised operations.

Thanks , I mean buying directly from the apple thai website and not from the the resellers shops.

Take it to the Authorized Apple shop in your area. would help to know where you're located. I had an Ipad air 2 die on me within the standard one year warranty.

I'm in Phuket, took it too their authorized service shop, was sent to Bangkok, received a brand new air 2 the next week.

1000% positive experience.

If you are worried about a pre-purchase, just make sure you take it to an authorized Apple shop if you purchase from apple.co.th. Does not matter where you bought it from.

Its not about fearing the device won't work , I'm thinking to buy the new Macbook , i played with it a bit in the store but the keyboard is holding me back as it got very different kind of keyboard , I heard from others that it takes a few days to get adjusted to it , thats why i want to have it for a few days and see if indeed i will get use to it , and if not - i would like to have the option to return it within the 14 days period and get a refund.

You'll get used to it, no problem.

The best keyboard I've ever used is the one I'm typing on now, my Mac wireless keyboard. The bottom row of keys takes a few days to get used to as they're not what you'd find on a regular PC keyboard. It's in another keyboard league all by itself.

I believe Apple Singapore is also not apple owned

I recently had my apple airport time capsule sent to Apple I care in KhonKaen for repair and it was replaced without too much hassle, I think apple service in Thailand is improving

I read the agreement and it plainly states "may" be eligible for refunds... which also means you may not... as to credit cards, it clearly states that the amount will be credited to your card...

"...you may be eligible to return the item for a refund..."

I am not sure the purpose of these policies is to let you try out the product for a hwile and see if you like it. You might want to spend some more time in the store, playing with it and then make a determination as to whether or not you will become accustomed to it. Most likely yes, but it is an expensive purchase. You might want to share your concerns with the manager at the store and ask what the return policy might be... if you are unhappy with the keyboard.

good luck.

do anyone here have experience with getting an item from the thai apple shop and returning it for a full refund during the 14 days refund guarantee ?

You are confusing the EU and Thailand. There is no 14 days refund guarantee.

Different countries different rules Apple may accept a return, or not.

In general in Thailand (there are exceptions) you buy it it's yours.

i thought so too until i saw this http://www.apple.com/th-en/shop/help/returns_refund

in the Thailand apple shop , its clearly said:

"If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may be eligible to return the item for a refund.

For eligible products, you have up to 14 calendar days from the time you receive your item(s) to initiate a return."

If its just the keyboard you are worried about you could ask the shop if there is a choice. Last week I bought a MacBook Air from istudio in Pattaya and they offered me the choice of farang or farang/thai keyboard. Surprisingly they had both in stock.

However you have already said that you do not have either a Thai credit card or bank account in your name, so unless you can get someone who has one of those to buy it on your behalf you may not get a refund.

Best advice is "Note: If you need assistance or do not have an Apple ID, please call 001-800-65-6957." To request information about using a non Thai credit card in the Thai Apple Store and if you are eligible for a refund to that card if you are not happy with the product.

I got used to mine pretty quickly. It's great - just ensure you get the right adaptors/cables for USB-C so that you can utilize existing USB 3.1 accessories as needed.

And be sure to get the m7 processor upgrade, it's definitely worth the extra dosh.

Be prepared to either a) read Thai or B) use Chrome to translate the Apple Store Web pages, as they've inexplicably removed their previous excellent English support from the online store. And be sure to select the international keyboard, unless you want the Thai keyboard, which is the default.

Finally, be prepared for your credit card company to reject the purchase due to overly-aggressive anti-fraud measures. Ring your credit card company in advance, explain what you're doing, and get them to note in your file to allow the purchase to go through.

I've never had a problem ordering direct from Apple Thailand, very efficient... Keyboard as you like...

I really don't know why the OP does not try a keyboard at one of the Apple Authorised dealers ... IStudio, Ibeats etc.

How about I buy a car, drive it around for 14 days to make sure I like the steering wheel?

Would you expect a full refund?
