BANGKOK: -- A young woman was found dead on the roadside at Soi Sakae Ngam 28, in Bang Khun Thian district, this morning. Police believed she was sexually assaulted and murdered.

The victim, who has not been identified, is estimated to be 18-23 years old. In a horrific discovery, local media reported that her throat was slit and there were two stab wounds in her stomach. She was naked from the waist down and officials found her jeans and underwear nearby.

Very sad. Hope they catch the culprit soon.

Bloody awful crime.......just rotten, low life person/s that did this........and unfortunately, it seems there's almost a trend for rape victim beginning.

I read last year that, statistically, there is a rape every 15 mins in this country and that's just the reported ones. This is a very tragic piece of news that feeds into what is a rather horrific aspect of life in Thailand. RIP to the poor woman and condolences to her family.

So sad, no way to die. R.I.P young lady..

I could be mistaken, but isn't this the 3rd rape/murder reported in the past month?

Actually, seems that some are trying for a daily occurrence.

Time to get really tough on rape crime, no 2 years inside and then release, minimum 10 no parole even royal ones, 10 is 10.

Is it just me, or does Thai society seem to be coming apart at the seams now?

This seems to becoming more and more frequent. It is about time the government does something more than a light fine and a very weak jail sentence. It is time to make this kind of crime more serious with the re-introduction of the death penalty or a real life sentence. As at the moment people who are carrying out this dreadful murders do not seem put off even if they are caught.

If there's a death penalty for drug dealers why not for the low life scums who indulge in such a heinous crime..do such criminals deserve mercy? A year in prison to get their masters degree in crime & then they are on to their evil ways again..it doesn't matter which country it is rapist should be considered no less than murderers..

So sad...so frequent...no relief for these mistreated young women on the horizon...

Yes This terrible news somebody's daughter I so hope they get this low life piece of scum shit evil <deleted> and put him inside for 20 straight to bang kwang

An arrest warrant has been issued for Mr. Min, a 24 y/o Burmese co-worker of the victim. Police are in the process of coordinating with immigration to determine whether or not he is still in the country.
