dddave
In case you need to go to the Nepal Embassy, it is in Phra Khanong on Sukhumvit 71, about 1 km from Sukhumvit and the Phra Khanong BTS. It is on the left side, outbound, directly across from KFC and the Max Value shopping plaza. It is not very well marked so easy to miss. Look for a blue wall & gate. The #40 bus that goes along most of Sukhumvit stops right next to it. Tell the ticket taker to stop at Max Value.
Mangkhut
According to Wikipedia Thai passports holders will get a visa on arrival as most european passport holders will. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Nepal
12DrinkMore
Tourist Visa on Arrival is available to Thais. I have done this. USD 30 for 15 days. Can be extended in Kathmandu for USD 2 per day, but if less than 15 days you get charged for the full 15 days. http://www.nepalimmigration.gov.np/content/tourist-visa.html It helps a LOT if you download and fill in the application form before departing. 2 photos required. They now have an online application as well. This I have not yet tried. http://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/tourist-visa (The fees seem to be a bit cheaper in Bangkok for whatever reason. However the additional costs will be more than the saving) Edited July 9, 2016 by 12DrinkMore

But you have to go again the next day for the pickup,so a lot easier getting it on arrival.

dbrenn
Why not just phone the Nepalese Embassy and ask? Maybe he wants to hear from people who have actually done it. After all, that's what a forum like this is for.
