PHUKET: -- A Phuket man was arrested on Wednesday (July 6) when he was found to be in possession of six bags of crystal meth (ya ice) weighing a total of 1 kilogram.

The man was caught after police saw him drop a bag of the drug from the car he was sitting in while parked on Phang Nga Rd in Phuket Town.

The announcement of the arrest came at press conference held today (July 8) by Vice Governor Chokdee Armornwat and Cpt Aumpon Samorthai of the Border Patrol Police 425 at the Tsunami Meeting Room of the Phuket Provincial Narcotics Control Management Center.

Cpt Aumpon said that police received a tip-off that a drug deal was to take place close to the car park of the Metropole Hotel.

On July 6, Lt Teerasak Narasri was sent out to observe the area, and at around 11am he noticed an Isuzu vehicle parked on Phang Nga Rd. The car door opened and a bag was dropped from it, he said.

One kg off the streets (temporarily or for good?) is good news. This particular drug is wreaking all kinds of havoc to societies all over the world.

The police never make any reference to catching the suppliers of the drugs to these small fish. Wouldnt it be a nice dream if for once the people behind the drugs were caught and sentenced?

Not you again ! Read the full article. He's been charged with "possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell". Maybe you should take something to help you from opening your mouth to change feet.

You would think, if only for publicity purposes, they could raid just ONE meth lab, or just ONE gunja crop here.
