Entering Thailand on visa exemption with a valid visa in passport?

Featured Replies

Hi
I want to apply for 60-day tourist visa. But after I get the visa, I want to go somewhere else first. But to get there, I will need to cross through Thailand by land. So, my question is, is it possible to get admitted on basis of visa exemption and save the 60-day visa for second entry?
Thanks

Never gonna happen. Some may say it's possible, but I doubt it.

It depends entirely upon the immigration officer that stamps you into the country. Leave the space for the visa number blank on your arrival card and see what happens.

If your visa is used you can get a re-entry permit that will keep the remainder of the 60 day entry valid when you return from your trip.

In my experience, computer says no.

I don't see how the computer would have any say in this.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

How long is your total trip ?

You can extend the tourist visa by 30 days

Used to be quite easy, these days you need to be really lucky. Officially visa has to be used.

The visa is not extended. The 60 day entry from it is extended. Getting the 30 day extension would not help if he has to use the entry unless he gets a re-entry permit.
