PM attends ASEM

BANGKOK, 14 July 2016 (NNT) - The Prime Minister has prepared to state Thailand's stance on several major international issues while attending the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) now taking place in Mongolia.

Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha has led a delegation to take part in the latest ASEM, running from today to July 16 in Ulaanbaatar of Mongolia. The meeting is marking the 20th anniversary of the formation of ASEM. His intentions while joining the 11th incarnation of the summit are to enhance Thailand's ties with other attending countries and to foster understanding on the Kingdom's political, economic, social and cultural projects.

While at the gathering, the Prime Minister plans to declare Thailand's stance on a range of major international issues to build confidence among the global community and attract bilateral cooperation. The ASEM meeting meanwhile is to focus on Asia-European cooperation on transcontinental issues such as human trafficking and irregular migration.

Lots of pointing towards him and muffled sniggering, "Look, it's the class clown"

They probably don't even know who he is up there.

Economic desperation continues as the PM goes to any lengths to attend any meeting around the globe where he might get lucky and find some country that is half inclined to do business with Thailand. His last foray was into a number of tin-pot African countries but little information has been forthcoming about the success of that trip.

Sure he will work his magic. Make all understand Thailand's unique situation, and that freedom of speech and human rights are

being upheld. Also, that reconciliation is just around the corner. Sadly, he will be the only representative at the meeting that has toppled a

popularly elected government, and everyone there will know that.

"...but little information has been forthcoming about the success of that trip."

Which tells you very clearly exactly how successful it was.
