I would like to know if I can apply for a retirement visa I am female british over fifty and my husband will be fifty in March. Can I apply for a visa with my husband as a dependent.

Or would he be granted a visa in January given that he is fifty in March.

Would appreciate advice please thanks

Spouse age is not a factor so you can do now. Although you might want to wait until January and use the more normal husband retirement and wife dependent to be more mainstream.

//Edit: just noticed you asked about visa in January rather then him being 50 then - there should be Consulates in the UK that would issue him a non immigrant O visa.

You cannot change a 30 day tourist visa exemption stamp or a tourist visa to a non immigrant visa to be a dependent. But you can apply for the extension of stay.

Just be sure to have your husband have the non immigrant visa before he arrives in Thailand.

Are you saying that both you and your husband are currently in Thailand on a non-immigrant visa B?

If so, then neither of you has to go back to the UK, nor to a Thai consulate in any other country – for a new visa. You also do not have to change your visa at the Immigration Office.

All you need to do is apply for an extension of stay (form TM.7) based on retirement, and your husband applies for an extension as your dependent. Or, if you prefer, your husband applies for retirement, after turning 50, and you apply as his dependent.

Are these multi entry visas obtained at a Embassy/Consulate or a extension of stay permit issued at Immigration?

We got the original visas in the UK and extension of stay issued at immigration. We are using sunbelt services by the way and understand that there is a seven day period with which to apply for the retirement visa after the work permit is cancelled. Thanks for all the help.
