From BKK, there are flights to Hat Yai, Narathiwat and Penang.

Does anyone lnow the length of time for a bus from Sungai Kulok to KB?

Considering KB as an alternate to Penang.

I am not intetrested in a long train or bus ride.

For a bus, maybe an hour or so, but you can easily get a taxi from the border that will take you to the consulate in 40-45 minutes.

I believe they work a muslim week at this consulate.

Sunday to Thursday, as it is a strongly muslim state.

You will need to factor this into your travel plans.

There is a Thai Consulate (744 0867, open Sund to Thurs

9-12 & 14-15:30, Jalan Pengkalan Chepa)

Culled from another place, accuracy not guaranteed.

Haven't been there yet, but might go there next month. Anyone know if they still offer double entry tourist visa? Otherwise I'll go to KL.

desperately boring place, had to wait 4 hours for my stamp, not a beer in sight. strangely they sold a large variety of locally made perfumes at very cheap price. bought some out of curiosity, should have given them to wimin, not suitable for blokes as it attracts ladyboys like mozzies

you should have explored some small lanes in the center near the bus station. a dozen chinese owned liquor shops which also sell icecold beer. can't have the beer in the shop though. once you open the can you have to leave.

Could you detail your experiances along with dates so that we can all understand better about Kota Bharu?
